UK: Power to the People

Conservative MP John Penrose issued his independent report ‘Power to the People’ where he recommends measures to reform the UK’s competition market for the digital era. The report addressed eight themes including ‘more competition in economically-regulated industries’ and ‘sticking up for consumers’. The report ranges much wider than energy but clearly addresses many of the areas of dissatisfaction with regulation. It has the potential to change how the energy sector deals with pricing and consumer engagement.
