UK: Innovation in local flexibility markets
The Open Networks Project is helping to deliver the smart grid in the UK and Ireland. It involves all ENA electricity members at both transmission and distribution to ensure that DNOs transition to smart, integrated system operators. Innovation has played a key part in the trialling and testing of this project and the range of new low carbon and net zero technologies aim to decarbonise and modernise the electricity networks.
