UK: Britain hits smart meter milestone
More than 10 million smart meters are now connected to Britain’s national smart meter network. The DCC revealed that over 5.5 million smart meters have been connected since the onset of the pandemic and the 10 millionth was installed by E.On Energy this morning. The smart meter rollout is a key player in creating a flexible energy system and allowing the UK to move away from fossil fuels.
